Purpose

This MOS Note provides guidance on how to cleanly delete Compute node(s) from EMOC, cleanup EMOC Domain references of Compute node(s) & rediscovering back Compute node(s) into EMOC.

Procedure in this MOS Note which be help resolving EMOC issues related to Compute node(s) discovery. Following are few issues that can be encountered due to Compute node(s) discovery issues in EMOC Domain model.

This MOS Note applies to Exalogic Virtual racks running with 2.0.6.3.X & 2.0.6.4.X versions.

 STEP 1 - Backup Exalogic Control Stack using Exabr
 STEP 2 - Stop EMOC, Proxy Controller, OVM Manager Services and just restart back EMOC, Proxy Controller Services
 STEP 3 - Delete affected Compute Node asset(s) from EMOC
 STEP 4 - Cleanup EMOC Domain model to remove the affected Compute node asset(s) mbeans
 STEP 5 - Restart EMOC & Proxy Controller services - **BEFORE** rediscovering Compute NOde asset(s)
 STEP 6 - Rediscover back affected Compute node asset(s) manually
 STEP 7 - Stop EMOC & Proxy Controller services - **AFTER** rediscovering Compute NOde asset(s)
 STEP 8 - Restart EMOC, Proxy Controller, OVM Manager Services
 STEP 9 - Validate Compute Nodes are discovered correctly from EMOC
