Last updated on FEBRUARY 13, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.4.200618 to 12.2.1.4.201011 [Release 12c]

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When generating an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c scenario and then exporting the scenario, "-SCEN_STATUS = VALID" is added to the description in the export file.
Importing the scenario then results in the "description" to show the word "VALID", and the rest of the description having disappeared.

The "description" should remain the same as in the original scenario after import.

This only occurs for scenarios that are newly generated. For scenarios imported from environments generated on ODI 12.2.1.3.1970708 older, the issue does not occur.

To reproduce:

1 - Create a mapping
2 - Make sure the mapping has text in "description" on "Overview" tab -> "Definition"
3 - Generate scenario
4 - Open Scenario, notice that the scenario has the "description" on the "definition" tab.
5 - Export the scenario
6 - In another work repository, import the scenario
7 - Open the scenario, notice that the "description" has been replaced by "VALID".

8 - Edit the xml file of the exported scenario
9 - Notice that the following is appended to the description:
-SCEN_STATUS=VALID

ie:

10 - In the other work repository, import the scenario
11 - Notice that the description is now correct
