Clarification on How Can I Find the Webviewable File in the Content Server 11g File System? (Doc ID 1474636.1)

In document(Doc ID 1474636.1) it is written that
3. The numbers are parts of the dRevClassID value. For example, take dRevClassID = 987654321
[-9:-6:0]
-9 thru -6 translate to the 9th place digit thru the 6th place digit and start at 0. So dRevClassID = 987654321, the value will be 987.
[-6:-3:0]
-6 thru -3 translate to the 6th place digit thru the 3rd place digit and start at 0. So dRevClassID = 987654321, the value will be 654.

(Note: If the RevClassID is small, the calculated values will be 0. Like dRevClassID=000000012, the value will be 000 for -9 thu -6 and -6 thru -3)

But how mdaw value is arrived? This is the missing part, please explain.
