Getting "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space" Error While Calling UCM Webservice with an ODI J2EE Agent (Doc ID 2753180.1)

Symptoms

When invoking an Oracle Universal Content Management (UCM) Webservice with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) J2EE Agent, the job finishes successfully if the response contains a small file, but always errors out for larger files (for example with sizes like 600 MB and larger).
The heap sizes defined in the managed server have been increased but the issue still persists.
When invoking outside of ODI via SoapUI, a timeout error is returned.
