ODI File Topology Configured for Unicode Ignores Consecutive Field Separators (Doc ID 2756193.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) file topology is configured to import Unicode data containing multibyte characters. When the mapping is executed, ODI ignores consecutive field separators. Instead of inserting a null into the database column, subsequent data is inserted into the incorrect database column.

For example, a file contains the following row data:

The topology is configured for Encoding character set as UTF-8, and Multibyte_mode as 1. The model datastore is configured as a delimited file with the field separator set to comma.
