Symptoms

Using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4, a mapping uses a Lookup component.

After deleting the source datastore of a mapping and replacing it by another datastore, selecting the existing lookup operator results in a java.lang.NullPointerException (NPE).

To reproduce:

  1. Create a mapping with two datastores and a target datastore
  2. Insert a lookup component and connect the source datastores to lookup then to the target
  3. Select the lookup component
=> Notice that this works fine
  4. Delete one of the source datastores, and replace it by a new source datastore
  5. Connect the new datastore to the lookup component
  6. Select the lookup component
=> observe the issue and "NPE" error
