Behavior of ODI 12c API for Data Sets Versus ODI 11g (Doc ID 2758202.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 21, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later
Oracle Data Integrator on Marketplace - Version 12.2.1.4.200304 and later
Oracle Data Integrator Cloud Service - Version 17.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Custom Knowledge Modules in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g use the ODI Substitution API when accessing data sets, for example, methods odiRef.getDataSetCount() and odiRef.getDataSetMax().

After upgrading to ODI 12.2.1.4, the results of the data set functions in the Substitution API are different than expected. For example, the number of data sets returned by method odiRef.getDataSetCount() for an ODI 11g interface is different than the number of data sets returned for the same mapping after upgrading it to ODI 12.2.1.4.
