Using XML as External Database with dp_drop_on_connect Flag Set Doesn't Drop the External Tables (Doc ID 2760184.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 07, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Oracle Data Integrator on Marketplace - Version 12.2.1.4.200123 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) XML Data Server has been configured to use an external database with dp_drop_on_connect parameter set to True.

When testing the XML Data Server from ODI Studio > Topology the first time, it is observed the tables are created in the external database.

Subsequent runs of the test connection from the XML topology do not show the timestamps of the table being updated, and the tables are not dropped. It behaves as if the data is placed in some cache and the test doesn't connect to the XML file.

If the Agent is restarted, then the data of the XML file is loaded in the system.

The same behavior is experienced when running a procedure which uses the following two XML driver commands:

    TRUNCATE SCHEMA
    SYNCHRONIZE FROM FILE
