ODI Incorrectly Generates Empty String for Old Outer Join "(+)" Syntax (Doc ID 2767704.1)

Using ODI, an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) customized Knowledge Module (KM) is used to generate the old outer join syntax (+).

If the KM code only contains "(+)" to concatenate, ODI generates an empty string.

This worked in some older release 12.1.3 or 12.2.1. The same stopped working in and later.
