Capture Batch Error Is Too Generic When A User Doesn't Have Rights In WebCenter Content Server (Doc ID 2769421.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 28, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Users are attempting to release documents to a Capture Commit profile.  This profile performs a Content Server commit with that user's credentials.  If the user does not have rights for Content Server, the below batch error message appears:

oracle.odc.exception.CommitException: An error occurred during commit process.
Error obtaining check-in response.

The Capture Log shows:

"Content item '<Content-ID>' was not successfully checked in. User "User_Name" is not assigned to any business unit in CDS (Content Server)"

The batch error shows a generic error message, but the diagnostic log shows a specific error.  Is it possible to get a specific error message in the WebCenter Capture Client, in the case of batch failure when committing a batch to WCC?
