Question on Coherence Pof Annotations (Doc ID 2785453.1)

Last updated on JUNE 26, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Coherence - Version 12.2.1.3.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When creating cache domain objects, inadvertently removed POF annotations (@PortableProperty) on some attributes of a cached class (extend AbstractEvolvable) and moved around existing POF indexes annotations. What is the impact of removing a POF index annotation from a property/attribute ? Within one class definition, if Pof annotated and non-annotated properties are mixed, what is the end result when object of this class get serialized, deserialized? Will this attribute now be skipped in POF serialization/deserialization? Or does Coherence will assign an index to it? Note that auto indexing is not enabled as it is not supported with AbstractEvolvable.
