Goal

As part of OS tuning to support soa infrastructure, we would like to know if there is any recommended softlimit to hard limit ratio for file descriptors.
We had soft limit/hard limit set at 32768 but since we ran out of file descriptors last week, we changed hard limit to 65536 and left soft limit at 32768.

Even with this change, we ran out of file descriptors last night even though lsof showed around 22K .
Hence wanted to check if there is any recommended ratio between soft limit and hard limit values
