Regenerate ODI Load Plan Scenarios Fails with "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError Java heap space" Error (Doc ID 2791814.1)

Symptoms

After an upgrade of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g to 12c, regenerating all scenarios from an ODI Load Plan (LP) starting with root step fails with the following error after running for many hours:


To reproduce:

  1. Open the load plan
  2. Got to "Steps" tab
  3. Right-click on the root step
  4. Select "Regenerate"


Even though slow, scenario regeneration works for all scenarios if done one by one or in smaller chunks.
