Purpose

This Article outlines the Oracle Support Policy for components and entitlements included in Oracle Verrazzano Premier Support subscriptions, including the Oracle Support Policy for Oracle Verrazzano Enterprise Edition(EE). The Oracle Support Policy for Oracle Verrazzano EE applies to customers who have obtained their Oracle Verrazzano EE entitlements through Oracle WebLogic Suite licenses and support contracts.

NOTE: Premier Support for Oracle Verrazzano Enterprise Container Platform will end on October 31, 2024, as documented at https://www.oracle.com/us/assets/lifetime-support-middleware-069163.pdf. After that date, Oracle Verrazzano will remain in Sustaining Support indefinitely. No further releases, updates, or fixes are planned.

Scope

Oracle Verrazzano Enterprise Container Platform is an Oracle Support offering of a cloud-enabling technology that you can use to deploy and manage container applications across Kubernetes clusters running in private clouds, Oracle Cloud, and other public clouds. The Oracle Verrazzano Premier Support services subscription bundles technical support for the Oracle Verrazzano Enterprise Container Platform, which includes the following entitlements:

END OF PREMIER SUPPORT

Premier Support for Oracle Verrazzano Enterprise Container Platform will end on October 31, 2024. After that time, Sustaining Support will be available to any existing Oracle Verrazzano customers.

During Premier Support, Oracle will continue to provide updates and fixes as described below. After Premier Support ends, Oracle Verrazzano will move to Sustaining Support. During Sustaining Support, there will be no further releases, updates, or fixes. Customers will continue to have access to existing cumulative patches and updates.

Advice to Customers

Oracle Verrazzano Premier Subscribers

For on-premises customers, you can continue to use Oracle Cloud Native Environment (OCNE), which remains in active development. For cloud customers, Oracle recommends leveraging the cloud-native services available in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Oracle Container Engine for Kubernetes (OKE), DevOps Service, OCI Search Service with OpenSearch, Application Performance Monitoring, and others.

Oracle WebLogic Suite Licensees

For on-premises customers, Oracle recommends use of Oracle Cloud Native Environment (OCNE), which remains in active development. For cloud customers, Oracle recommends moving to Oracle WebLogic Server for OKE on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and leveraging the OCI cloud-native services available, including the services mentioned above.

As part of Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle provides the Oracle WebLogic Kubernetes Toolkit, which is a set of open source tools to help you move your WebLogic workloads to containers and Kubernetes. The Oracle WebLogic Kubernetes Toolkit includes the Oracle WebLogic Kubernetes Operator, Oracle WebLogic Deploy Tooling, Oracle WebLogic Monitoring Operator, among others. These tools remain in active development.
