Symptoms

 After installing and configuring OID 12.2.1.4 on Oracle Linux 8, running for the first time the oid_setup command throws an exception and the creation of the OID instance fails:

 The same issue does not occur on Oracle Linux 7.

Changes

 Install OID 12.2.1.4 on Oracle Linux 8.
