Exalogic Virtual: How to copy files to a vServer that is not accessible over any networks
(Doc ID 2808552.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.3.0 and laterLinux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64
Goal
At times, one or more guest vServers may become inaccessible over any networks, due to the following:
- Incomplete or failed application of guest vServer patch
- yum update performed (without configuring a yum exclude list) that overwrites key InfiniBand related RPMs
In such cases, it will be required to copy over one or more files including RPMs or other patch artifacts to the affected guest vServers. Since networking is broken in this state, these files cannot be copied using scp.
This MOS note provides a step-by-step procedure to copy files, such as RPMs, to a Guest vServer that is not accessible over any networks.
