Recovery At Parent Composite Not Working When Rethrow Activity Is Used At Child (Doc ID 2829508.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 24, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Rethrown mechanism was changed with introduction of patch 18145453 - THE FAULT DETAILS ARE INCORRECT FOR BUSINESSRULE COMP IN LATEST CB FAILURES
In the case of a fault being caught and then rethrown, it will be reported as a new fault so two roles will be inserted into the sca_common_fault table.
Patch reset the original fault id to the context, and change the state back to NONRECOVERABLE. Hence, no new fault will be inserted into sca_common_fault.

With this fix in place, when an asynchronous bpel process is invoking a child synchronous process, and a fault is rethrown by child process to parent, asynchronous bpel is able to catch it but not able recover it.
