Identity Manager (OIM) Managed Server Crashes when Adding Users to Admin Roles (Doc ID 2830511.1)

Symptoms

OIM managed server crashes when adding users to admin roles if the role has a large membership (>800).  Heap consumption of the server increases drastically and the JMS Message for adding the membership gets stuck in JMS queue.  This eventually leads to a server crash.  The heap dump will show a single OIM thread which has loaded over three gigabytes of objects in a Java Vector.
