LDAP Based [Partial] Replication Includes Root Oracle Context (cn=OracleContext)
(Doc ID 283175.1)
Last updated on MAY 24, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle Internet Directory - Version 9.0.4 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
Doing partial replication between two distinct AS infrastructures.
Setting up partial replication for a particular naming context(s), the root cn=OracleContext (the one in the root; not the one within the realm) is also replicated. On the replica OID the root context is replaced with the one of the Supplier. The replica(consumer) root context must remain unchanged since it holds the AS infrastructure metadata and the entire iAS infrastructure configuration.
Create a naming context and specified this naming context in remtool:
- Create a naming context for the entry cn=mycontext,dc=<COMPANY_NAME>,dc=com
- Use this naming context during the "remtool -paddnode" step of the replication setup
