Exalogic: Applying a PSU only to Guest vServers for immediate relief (Doc ID 2851370.1)

Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Purpose

This document provides guidance on applying only the Guest vServer parts of a PSU while the rest of the infrastructure continues to run an older EECS version - for immediate relief from bugs and vulnerabilities that are known to be fixed in newer PSUs.

Scope

This document applies to Oracle Exalogic Infrastructure running 2.0.6.4.0 and higher versions in a virtualized configuration.

The guidance provided in this MOS note is applicable to the following components on Exalogic:

        - Guest vServers at 2.0.6.4.0 or higher running Oracle Linux 6 on Virtual
        - Guest vServers at 2.0.6.4.0 or higher running Oracle Linux 7 on Virtual

This is not applicable to the following components on Exalogic:

        - Compute nodes (dom0) on Virtual
        - Exalogic Control vServers on Virtual
 
This is also not applicable to Exalogic running in a Physical configuration.
