ODI Agent Fails with Open File Sessions Limit (Doc ID 2866325.1)

When Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) starts, the number of reported open file sessions is in the range of several hundred. Within the hour, the value raises to several thousand. Eventually it reaches the open file limit imposed by the operating system, and the agent begins to fail.

After restarting the agent it works fine, however, the open files issue will return when the values climb high enough again.
