Intermittent Coherence Cluster ServiceMonitor Thread Consuming 100% CPU (Doc ID 2868254.1)

Symptoms

A Customer reported that in 14.1.1.0.x FMW domain processes of the coherence cluster started reporting that the ServiceMonitor thread consuming 100% CPU. In those cases the ServiceMonitor thread seems to be spinning and running in an endless loop on a sleep, but not sleeping, instead being runnable. Restarting the nodes does not solve the problem, they again fall into this state.
