Symptoms
Duplication mode was used when performing the standard export / import of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4 Models.
As a result, the Globally Unique Object Identifiers (GUIDs) of the Models are different in the original repository and the imported repository.
If the Model has underscores (_) in the name, there are no issues with export / import of mappings that use the model.
If there are dots (.) in the name, using standard import results in the Mapping being unable to associate with the existing Datastore. When opening the mapping, "deleted" is seen next to the Datastore name.
However, if the name of the Datastore is renamed using underscore (_) instead of dots (.) in both repositories prior to export / import, the existing Datastore is associated with the mapping.
