[Java SE] May 2022 Patch Release (Doc ID 2869621.1)

Last updated on MARCH 29, 2024

Applies to:

Java SE JDK and JRE - Version 7 to 18
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Details

On May 2, 2022, Oracle released a Java SE Patch Release, which consists of the following versions:

This May 2022 Patch Release adds three non-critical changes: two XML fixes and one change to the Windows implementation of java.io.File.  See the release notes linked above for your version.  As with all Java SE patch updates, this patch release is cumulative, which means it includes all of the fixes of the previous patch update, the April 2022 Critical Patch Update (CPU).

Please note that this patch release is not a CPU, so it does not change the security baseline and does not trigger an auto-update.

Actions

If you have already applied the April 2022 CPU, we recommend applying the May 2022 Patch Release only if you are affected by the issues it fixes.  If you are using releases older than the April 2022 CPU, we recommend updating to the May 2022 Patch Release rather than the April 2022 CPU.  Downloads of this patch release are available from document Latest Java SE Patch Updates on MOS (Doc ID 1414485.1).
