Symptoms
Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) 12c virtualizing a RDBMS Database (DB) to LDAP.
Operations such as searches with simplepagesize/paging control fail with log error:
errorMessage [truncated]: Cannot decode the provided ASN.1 element as an LDAP paged results control value because the cookie could not be properly decoded: org.opends.sdk.DecodeException: Cannot decode the ASN.1 element because an unexpected end of file was reached while reading the type byte
Steps to reproduce from command line:
1. Create RDBMS Workflow as per: How to Create RDBMS Workflow with Oracle Database in OUD Proxy (Doc ID 2243152.1)
2. Run a test ldapsearch with paging control, e.g.:
