Last updated on JUNE 05, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo - Version 12.2.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

On: 12.2.2 version, Tuxedo Kernel

The user tried to call Tuxedo services in parallel using tpacall within a single XA transaction but observed that the services were running sequentially.

Tuxedo services are called in Parallel from the parent Tuxedo service internally they are sequential. with parallel calls, one service waits for the other to finish and starts the next call.

The user looking for more information if the Tuxedo service supports parallelism if called from the Parent Tuxedo service

The documentation provided does not clarify whether typically services invoked parallelly using XA transactions execute parallelly or sequentially. The parent XA tuxedo service and tpacall participant XA tuxedo services work with the same Oracle DB.

Oracle Tuxedo and Oracle DB support parallel execution of tpacall tuxedo services with XA transaction when XA parent and XA participant services work with a single Oracle DB?
