Symptoms

Running ua -readiness fails UPGAST-00214

Steps To Reproduce

1. Log in to Oracle Fusion Middleware as a WebLogic Install user.

2. Enter:

4. At the Welcome dialog box, click Next.

5. At the Schemas and Configurations dialog box, select Domain Based.

6. At the Domain Directory field, click Browse to browse to the domain directory and click Next.

7. Enter DBA account information and select “Connect” …

Note this is where the issue is at. In the section “Database Connect String filed, which is grayed out, it has <FQDN>Host:<SQL_PORT>/<SERVICE_NAME>. This fails and the error seen is

Error: UPGAST-00214: Unable to connect to database as the schema user "<PREFIX>_OPSS".
Cause: The database connection failed for the specified reason.

Action: See the secondary error message for additional details.

IO Error: Invalid connection string format, a valid format is: "host:port:sid"
