Symptoms

SQL Developer v22.2 fails to connect to database with error:

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdbc/datasource/impl/OracleDataSource

This happens for all users.  Previous versions of SQL Developer work fine.

You use OCI “Thick” connection type as described in:

         <Note: 2121278.1> How To Integrate the Oracle Client and OCI Thick Drivers with SQL Developer.

Changes

 Upgraded to SQL Developer release 22.2.
