Symptoms
There is java application using JDBC/UCP that connects to a 2-node RAC. If one node goes down while executing a query in a session connecting from the program, the application hangs without returning an Exception.
When a node down event is received, the version without the problem will properly clean up the Connection and receive a Closed Connection as shown below:
Since the version that causes the problem does NOT receive a Closed Connection, the application cannot perform Exception handling and continues to wait.
