Users Are Unable To Login to The Capture Client After A Java 1.8.0_341 Upgrade
(Doc ID 2894616.1)
Last updated on APRIL 12, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
After upgrading Java to 1.8.0_341, the following occurs:
- Immediately after logon, a Java Download screen is presented stating that version 8 update 341 is required. This happens repeatedly, even after the stated version is installed. This occurs using the Edge browser. Two users have tried to access Capture, one has Java Version 8 update 341 and the other has Version 8 update 241.
- Some users have been able to get past this screen with the following in place:
- Internet Explorer Compatibility Settings set as follows under settings/default browser in Edge:
'Let IE open sites in Edge’ needs to be set to ‘Incompatible sites only’ - The Capture URL needs to be added to the IE compatibility settings (an action that needs to be refreshed every 30 days).
- A Java version that is earlier than the version stated in the download screen.
- Internet Explorer Compatibility Settings set as follows under settings/default browser in Edge:
- If the first issue is resolved, the Java Control Panel security settings need the Capture URL added to the site exception list to avoid a security certificate error.
Please assist with a way to access Capture that does not need user laptops to be reconfigured every 30 days. Also why does access works differently in the new environment when compared to the OMCS environment?
Changes
Java was upgraded to 1.8.0_341 on the Capture Server.
