UMS Email Adapter delay in processing incoming emails (Doc ID 2897765.1)

Symptoms

The customer uses a UMS adapter to process incoming emails and created BPEL instances.
There is a significant delay when a large email arrives. The UMS takes long time to process it and sometimes fails.

The customer noticed STUCK threads coming from UMS/SDP and sometimes errors with the following exception:
