(Doc ID 2897970.1)
Last updated on SEPTEMBER 27, 2022
Applies to:

Linux x86-64
Goal
At times, one or more guest vServers may fail to boot up, due to the following:
- Corrupted filesystem
- Incomplete or failed application of guest vServer patch
- Kernel install issues leading to kernel panic during bootup
- yum update performed (without configuring a yum exclude list) that overwrites key InfiniBand related RPMs
In such cases, since the vServer fails to boot up, it cannot be accessed over xm console. This document provides a script to mount the vServer filesystem on a compute node (dom0) to fix the problem.
This script is supported both on EECS 2.0.6.3.x and 2.0.6.4.x Virtual OL6 and OL7 guest VMs.
vServers with LVM partitions that span multiple disk images are also supported.
