Symptoms

When attempting to federate using IdP (Identity Provider) discovery on an OAM instance functioning as a SAML federation proxy with an external SP (Service Provider) authentication attempts result in a system error after credentials are provided at the external IdP.  An error similar to the following appears in the OAM managed server diagnostic log coincident with the system error:
