Symptoms

Approval workflow is not sending emails notifications to group assignee.

If the assignee of the request is a single user, then the notifications for the requests are successfully sent by the Workflow process. 

If the assignee is a GROUP containing 1 or more members, the notifications are not invoked and sent to the assignee to let them know that they need to approve a request.

This worked previously.
