Symptoms
Fusion Middleware (FMW) 12c, e.g. 12.2.1.4 (e.g. integrated with OBIEE).
Unable to login with LDAP users after enabling LDAPS for AD authentication provider.
The diagnostic log shows:
<BEA-099117> <The LDAP authentication provider named "<provider name>" failed to make a connection to LDAP server at ldaps://[AD_HOSTNAME]:[AD_PORT], the error cause is: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target.>
