Goal

This document explains if the Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 12c supports specific syntax of password policies "Characters Allowed" field is supported.

Background

Need to restrict the characters that can be used in OAM passwords to the following:
  • Alphabet capital letter [A-Z]
  • lowercase alphabet [a-z]
  • digits [0-9]
  • some special characters [#%@_]

To achieve the above, via an OAM password policy there are two options ...

  • Set "Disallowed characters"
  • Set "Allowed Characters"
