(Doc ID 2958936.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 28, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.2.1.3.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
A BPEL Rest outbound SSL call is failing with "unable to find valid certification path to requested target" even though the Root and Intermediate certificate are present in the KSS Custom Trust store in use.
The SSL handshake fails with "Fatal (CERTIFICATE_UNKNOWN): sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target" only for this Rest call and it succeeds for other Web Service call to same remote machine.
The standard out shows that KSS custom trust is in use and root and intermediate certificates are stored in it.
