DBCA on AS 10.1.2.0.2 Installation Fails at 50 Percent
(Doc ID 296160.1)
Last updated on MARCH 28, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.0.2 [Release AS10gR2]Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)
Symptoms
When installing the IM and MR 10g installation on a Solaris 2.8 box, it fails at 50 percent during the Database Creation Assistant (DBCA), which is the Creating and Starting Oracle Instance step. A popup window appears on the screen which says "Database Configuration Assistant: Error", and there is no text within the popup box. When the OK button is clicked, the DBCA Configuration Assistant fails.
Changes
You have enabled debugging for the DBCA according to internal Note:295751.1 (How to Troubleshoot Failed DBCA During Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) install). The debugging output shows the following error messages: [ClonePostCreateScripts.executeImpl:238] Updating dm_pmml_dir [Thread-2] [11:18:30:857] [Trace.out:586] java.lang.NullPointerException at oracle.sysman.assistants.dbca.backend.ClonePostCreateScripts.executeImpl (ClonePostCreateScripts.java:297)
