ODI Smart Import Incorrectly Deletes Project Variable and Creates Global Variable with Wrong GUID (Doc ID 2963000.1)

Symptoms

An Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) work repository has an existing project level variable.

Using smart import of a global variable having the same name but different Global Unique Identifier (GUID) results in deleting the project level variable and creating a global variable with wrong GUID.

On the target the global variable has the GUID of the deleted project variable instead of the GUID from the smart export file.
