Symptoms

Using Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4.+,  the option to execute in "simulation mode" is greyed out in ODI Studio.

To reproduce:

1. Open ODI Studio
2. Attempt to execute a scenario
3. Notice that "simulation mode" is not available
