ODI 12c "LKM Essbase Extract METADATA" Fails With "Input member [NAME] not found" Error when the Member Name Contains Accentuated Characters (Doc ID 2987727.1)

Symptoms

In Hyperion Essbase, a Member is called "Attività" (notice the "à" character). The above is correctly reverse engineered in Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12c Studio.

A Mapping is created to read metadata from the "Attività" Essbase source Datastore, and write into some target (any). The Mapping uses the out of the box "LKM Hyperion Essbase METADATA to Oracle".

While the extraction of metadata from the above Essbase Member succeeds in ODI 11g, the same fails in ODI 12c, on the LKM "Extract Metadata" task with the following error:
