Word Documents In OLE Container Disappear When Norton Anti-Virus Script Blocking Is Used (Doc ID 299137.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 15, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 10.1.2.0.2 and later
All Platforms

Symptoms

A Word Document object inserted in an OLE container in the forms builder is not retained.
Once the form is closed, or even only the canvas closed, the document is no longer there when
reopening.

1) Create a new form.
2) Create a new canvas.
3) From the vertical toolbar, select the OLE Container Item and place it on the canvas.
4) Right click on this OLE item and choose "Insert Object" from pop-up menu.
5) Select the Create From File radio button, enter the path to the .doc file wanted then click OK.
6) Close the canvas.
7) Reopen the canvas and notice the document is no longer there.

Other objects (excel sheet, images) are retained, but word documents fail to remain in the container.

Documents are expected to remain in the form and be present again once the form is saved, closed
then reopened.
