OIG 12.2.1.4 : FirstLogin Page is getting into a Loop with Error "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Internal Error: Invalid webgate name in oim-config.xml"

Symptoms
1. Reset the password of a user in OIM.
2. Login to the Identity Console with the credentials of the user's whose password was reset.
3. It redirects to FirstLogin page which requests to provide the Old, New and Confirm New passwords.
4. Provide the passwords and click OK.
5. On Submit, it does not redirect to the Self-Service Page.
6. On trying to login again with the new password, it redirects to the FirstLogin page again to reset the password.
The below error could be seen in the OIM server diagnostic and .out log files:
Changes
The "Expires After (in Days)" attribute in the Default Password Policy was modified to 0.
