Symptoms
Having an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.2.1.4 Mapping that writes to a target XML Datastore.
When Oracle external database is used on the XML Data Server, the C$ table is created with incorrect data types.
For example, when the external database used is Oracle, the data types in the C$ table are:
VARCHAR -- instead of VARCHAR2
NUMERIC -- instead of NUMBER
LOMGVARCHAR -- instead of CLOB
etc
In fact, the data types used are from the XML technology instead of the technology of the Oracle external database.
