In Exalogic racks (Virtual), we observed the issue of ZFS Active storage head hangs while the node is still accessible causing the Guest VM's to hang.

When checking the ZFS log messages , we can observe the stack trace by running the below commands.

Exalogic_sn01:> confirm shell egrep -i "devi_removed timeout" /var/ak/logs/debug.sys
Exalogic_sn02:> confirm shell egrep -i "devi_removed timeout" /var/ak/logs/debug.sys

Other Symptoms:

- Cannot access to the share on Active node
- ZFS command prompt and BUI hung.
- Able to get into the ZFS shell, but the commands are very slow/hung.
