Basic Dynamic Authentication Not Working (Keep Getting the Browser Authentication Popup) When ORDS is Deployed to Weblogic Server (Doc ID 3002677.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle REST Data Services - Version 21.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Accomplished the steps to implement Basic Dynamic Authentication per the instructions in the following document:

ORDS 21.x and earlier versions ->   How To Configure Basic Dynamic Authentication When Migrating From Modplsql To ORDS 21.4 (Doc ID 2901900.1)

ORDS 22.x & later versions ->   Configure Basic Dynamic Authentication When Migrating from Modplsql to ORDS 22.1+ (Doc ID 2878704.1)

- Basic dynamic authentication works fine using ORDS standalone mode but does not work using Weblogic deployment.

- When using ORDS deployed to Weblogic to run the simple procedure as the non-privileged gateway user,

http://<server>:<WLS_port>/ords/dirnopriv/private_proc?show_text=hello

the browser will show authentication popup. Enter the privileged user credentials.

The procedure will not execute and the browser will show the authentication popup again.

Changes

 Deployed ORDS to Weblogic Server.
