Oracle Database Connector OID / DIP 10g Synchronization Quick Start (Doc ID 300269.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 9.0.4 to 10.1.4 [Release 10gR1 to 10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This article provide a step by step procedure for setting up the Oracle Database Connector for DIP Synchronization between a database and OID.

Scope

This procedure can be used for any OID version between 9.x and 10gR3.  Although the procedure is the same,  the DIPTester tool that is referenced does not work for 11g.

This procedure assumes you have a working knowlege of Oracle Database tables and OID. It should be used in conjunction with the OID Admin Guide. After performing these steps you will have a working Database-to-Oid scenario that can be used as the basis for doing a connector to match your needs. Note: The Oracle Database Connector is an IMPORT ONLY connector.

There is no support for any Oracle Database Connector EXPORT from OID to database tables. For this you should use the OID plugin framework and or/triggers using the DBMS_LDAP API.
