WebLogic Kubernetes Operator Becomes Unresponsive when Trying to Change Administration Server Status (Doc ID 3006384.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 29, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In a Kubernetes cluster one Weblogic Kubernetes Operator (version 4.1.3) is configured to manage multiple Domains.

The Operator is encountering random unresponsiveness.

For example:

After changing the serverStartPolicy for a domain or clusters, nothing happened:

  • serverStartPolicy value was changed from 'IfNeeded' to 'Never', but the status of the Admin Server pod didn't changed

Workaround is to restart (terminate) the Operator and then force the intropector (changing the introspectVersion value).
