Oracle ESSO Logon Manager Fails To Inject Credentials Into A Web Application In Microsoft Edge With IE Compatibility Mode Enabled (Doc ID 3006463.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite Plus - Version 11.1.2.3.2 and later
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows (32-bit)

Symptoms

The Oracle ESSO Logon Manager client fails to detect a web application in the Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome web browsers and does not automatically inject the user's credentials.

The ESSO web extension is installed but it is disabled (greyed out) in each of the browsers when the web application is loaded.

The issue is specific to a single web application and does not reproduce for any other web applications.

The issue can be reproduced by performing the following steps:

  1. Create a web application template for the web application in the ESSO Administrative Console.
  2. Publish the application template to the repository.
  3. Open the web application in the Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome web browser.
