Goal

This note will provide the steps to migrate an existing Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 11.1.2.3.0 Multi Data Center (MDC) environment to use the OAP CERT mode.  The mode of the existing MDC environment does not affect the steps to move to CERT mode.  This note does NOT apply to 12c environments...for information on migrating 12c MDC environments to CERT mode please refer to note 3003148.1.  These steps are only necessary in environments where the Session Controls SessionDataRetrievalOnDemand field is set to true in the <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/oam-config.xml.

If this field is set to false, then sessions are synchronized using the data in the OAM session cookies, and OAP connections are not used for synchronizing sessions between the data centers.
